Softpak users can now use CargoSnap even more easily. Photos they take using this smart app during transport or in the warehouse are automatically added to the relevant file in Softpak’s TMS or WMS.
Thanks to this standard interface, it is even easier for users to keep track of and share customer files. “This interface saves us even more time and enables us to offer our customers a higher standard of service,” says Kees Groeneveld, Director of launch customer Euro Nordic Logistics.
CargoSnap offers a mobile app that allows users, amongst other things, to easily take photos, videos or scans, save them to the cloud and share them with colleagues, customers or clients. The images can be retrieved via a secure online platform using a reference number.
The new standard interface with Softpak’s logistics software makes viewing CargoSnap images even easier. Photos, videos and scans linked to a barcode or order number using the CargoSnap app are automatically added by Softpak’s software to the relevant digital file. Companies using Softpak’s transport or warehouse management system (TMS or WMS) simply need to click on a link to view the associated images.
This all-round maritime logistics service provider takes hundreds of photos every day. These include photos of cargo in warehouses, lorries, containers and seagoing vessels, as well as the condition of containers and any damage to goods. “Our customers want a guarantee that a container is clean and undamaged before their goods are loaded. What could be easier than just taking a quick photo? In the past, at the end of each day, we had to download data from about five cameras and archive all the images manually. With CargoSnap, that’s no longer necessary. The standard interface with Softpak now offers even greater convenience. We can now resolve any claims regarding damage more quickly,” explains Groeneveld.
For Softpak, the integration with CargoSnap represents a welcome addition to its product portfolio. The software company has been providing IT solutions for forty years, primarily to logistics service providers operating in seaports such as Rotterdam, Moerdijk, Vlissingen, Amsterdam and Antwerp. “Developments in the field of digitalisation and mobile applications are happening at breakneck speed. We cannot and do not want to develop everything ourselves, but we make a conscious choice to integrate with specialised solutions that have proven themselves in practice. Such as CargoSnap,” says Geerten Verbeet, account manager at Softpak.
The standard interface offers added convenience in several ways. Firstly, the order management module of the Softpak solutions automatically includes a link to the corresponding photos taken by users at some point in the supply chain – whether in the warehouse or en route. Links to photos can also be included in communications with customers, such as a confirmation of receipt or a status update. “To do this, companies do need to have the latest version of our software and set up an account with CargoSnap. Since the installation at Euro Nordic, several companies have shown concrete interest and installed the interface,” says Verbeet.
CargoSnap is also delighted with the partnership with Softpak. “As partners, we complement each other. Softpak is a strong player with years of experience in warehousing, transport and customs clearance. With our app, we provide the ‘Proof of Condition’ that Softpak users need. Merkx sees opportunities to further expand the interface – and thus the functionality – for Softpak users. “Softpak’s customer base includes many SMEs.
