Softpak offers integrated logistics solutions to port-related businesses. Its clients include container terminals, container depots, (customs) freight forwarders, warehouses, distribution centres and shipping lines, mainly based in Europe but also elsewhere. With 45 employees, Softpak operates in no fewer than 16 countries, including the Netherlands, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Norway.
Why acquire Softpak? This Dutch company is a great addition to Organi’s service portfolio, and Organi sees opportunities for further growth. The companies share striking similarities: they were both founded in 1977 and develop software solutions for the logistics sector in its broadest sense, based on the same technology stack (including Progress and Angular).
All former Softpak shareholders will continue to work for the company, with the exception of Joop Keislair (CEO), who will be leaving following the transfer. Aniel Badri will become Softpak’s new director. Aniel has been using Softpak software since 2009 and joined the company a few years later. He has been involved in the overall coordination of the company for some time and will now officially take charge of Softpak’s day-to-day management, alongside Kristof Poulain of Organi, who is responsible for logistics in the Benelux.
Organi is a well-established name in the Belgian IT sector and is committed to continuous development. This independent Belgian company focuses on improving and automating business processes through software and IT services. Organi’s clients operate in the business sector, accountancy, logistics & customs, and debt collection agencies. With a great mix of experienced experts and enthusiastic young professionals, 105 staff members serve over 200 clients.
Organi’s OLS software offers a comprehensive operational and financial management solution for logistics service providers, freight forwarders, countries, customs agents and industrial shippers. OLS-Customs is the software solution that automates all processes relating to customs formalities. These two packages fall under Organi’s logistics division, headed by Kristof Poulain.
Initially, the two sister companies will continue to operate independently. The roles of the staff and the way in which they support their customers will remain unchanged. It is important that continuity and stability are guaranteed. In the future, the two companies will complement and strengthen one another to grow into a powerful group that serves the market to the full.
In the short term, there are many benefits that both parties can derive from this synergy. For example, Softpak’s customers can rely on Organi’s IT services in the areas of hardware, cloud and managed IT services. Organi’s customers can immediately rely on Softpak’s expertise and solutions in the areas of container terminals, container depots and liner shipping agencies. In addition, the two companies are pooling their knowledge and resources in the field of web applications and mobile apps.
It is already clear that this takeover will expand the possibilities and opportunities for both businesses and their customers!
